To be agile to adapt to the rapid advancing in technology, Cisco over the years have acquired many smaller start-up tech companies. As a results, its portfolio has many over lapping functionality with inconsistent interface and workflow causing a very poor user experience. Cisco Network Management Technology Group – Service Provider was putting together a suite for managing large service provider network from Data Center Network Device to Optical Device, Cloud and Fulfillment through a Single Pane of Glass. I was the Lead UX Designer for this massive undertaking project. My job was to collaborate with multiple teams spreading worldwide from multiple products. The goals and objectives for this project are:

  • Define and design a central application to mange all the common core (User Management, Device Management, Monitoring & Fault Management and Topology) of all products. The new application is called Prime Central
  • Adapt new UX Framework with Modernize Look and Feel for all applications within the suite
  • Provide a Single Pane of Glass to View, Manage, Monitoring and Troubleshooting the entire network

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Product Manager and Business Owner to determine Personas
  • Define User Stories and inventory Use Cases
  • Wireframe mockups and conduct reviews with stakeholders
  • Produce High Fidelity Prototypes
  • Provide UX Guidelines and help engineers to create pixel perfect app
  • Help facilitate Usability Testings
  • QA Testings and manage Project Timeline to ensure deliverables are right on target
